Late Edwardian Crescent Brooch with Clear Paste in Sterling Silver
A slender little crescent brooch dating to the late Edwardian period (~1905-1915). This brooch looks quiet in bright light and then absolutely wakes up the second the room gets dim. Formed in sterling silver and set with clear paste stones that flash like tiny diamonds along the curve, giving you that classic moonlit sparkle. This brooch is fitted with a transitional folded C-catch.
The profile is delicate and sweet, and the scale makes it easy to wear on a lapel, collar, knit, scarf, or even attached to a chain to become a pendant.
-Details-
Dimensions: 1.37 inches long, .34 inches total width
Metal: Sterling Silver
Stone: Clear Paste Glass
Total Weight: 1.65 grams
Hallmark: Sterling
Condition: The brooch presents well and the curve remains graceful and even. The paste stones show light vintage wear and a touch of age related softening to the surface sparkle, which is typical with paste. Prongs and bead settings are intact. The sterling shows light surface wear and patina consistent with age. The clasp functions well.
A Note to Our Customers: All of our vintage or antique pieces have been loved in a previous life. Because of this, you may notice subtle signs of wear consistent with age, a soft patina, or minor surface marks. These pieces have a lived-in character that comes with time. We take great care to photograph and describe each piece as accurately as possible, and will always note anything significant. These small imperfections are part of what makes each piece unique and are a reflection of its history and the life it has already lived.
