Mid-Century Turquoise Art Glass Statement Ring in Sterling Silver
A wonderfully unusual mid-century statement ring centered around a domed art glass cabochon made to imitate turquoise. The glass is a little work of art in itself, mottled and marbled with white, beige and brown to recreate the complex matrix of natural turquoise. An additional layer of turquoise-blue coloration was applied across the surface to complete the effect, giving the cabochon depth and variation, just like the natural stone. The cabochon is held within an open sterling silver framework with broad rectangular tabs, sweeping and organic elements and split shoulders.
Likely dating to the 1940s or 1950s, this is a particularly striking example of mid-century silverwork and creative artistic experimentation.

Because of this, you may notice subtle signs of wear consistent with age, a soft patina, or minor surface marks. We take great care to photograph and describe each piece as accurately as possible, and will always note anything significant.
