Sold Out

This Edwardian spider brooch, circa 1905 to 1915, is a beautiful example of early 20th century novelty jewelry with beautiful artistry and craftsmanship. The elongated teardrop abdomen features luminous blue guilloché enamel, a technique in which translucent enamel is poured on top of intricate metalwork, creating shimmer and depth. At the head, sits a vivid blue paste stone.

During the Edwardian times, spiders were associated with patience, creativity, destiny, and feminine power through the symbolism of weaving. Wearing one signaled confidence and wit, a quiet rebellion wrapped in elegance.‍ ‍

We take great care to photograph and describe each piece as accurately as possible, and will always note anything significant. These small imperfections are part of what makes each piece unique and are a reflection of its history and the life it has already lived.
