Mid-Century Purple Enamel Floral Earrings in Sterling Silver
These mid century sterling silver earrings, circa 1950 - 1960, feature stylized flower blossoms rendered in lavender and violet enamel. Subtle veining beneath the translucent enamel, creates depth and movement in the light. A small cluster of silver beadwork at the center mimics the stamen of the flower. At just under an inch tall and wide, these earrings have beautiful presence on the ear, like wearing a fresh bloom captured at the height of spring.
In the 1950s and 1960s, orchids symbolized refined beauty, femininity and glamour, and appeared frequently in fashion and decorative arts of the period. These would make a wonderful addition to a spring or summertime outfit!
